Chris qualified from the School of Architecture, College of Technology Dublin in 1982. On graduating Chris worked with Abalkhail Consulting Engineers and RKD Architects on mixed use projects in Ireland and abroad. He was appointed to Kilkenny Design, the design authority of the Irish Government, to provide design consultancy services in 1986.
Chris joined the Traynor O’Toole Architects in 1989. He has expertise in design for the pharmaceutical, industrial and logistics sectors. Among projects successfully delivered were facilities for Lake Region Pharmaceutical Ltd. and the four Regional Distribution Centres for Lidl GmbH.
He has worked on a wide range of building and project types and has led the design teams on some of the firm’s largest projects. These include Beacon South Quarter, a mixed use development of 100,000sq.m, Beacon Court and Beacon Hospital. He offers particular expertise in project management and delivery, fire safety design and quality control procedures.
Chris recently completed a medical/dental practice fit out for Centric Health in Sandyford. He has also led the design team on a substantial refurbishment of Beacon Hospital, providing new state of the art Oncology, Urology and Endoscopy diagnostic treatment facilities, in a live hospital environment.
Together with his team in TOTP, he obtained planning permission in 2016 for 26,000sq.m. of high quality offices in South County Business Park, which is being developed for construction now. He is also currently overseeing the architectural team on a 10 storey apartment development for Ires REIT in Sandyford, due for completion in 2017.
