Critical to the design response is the creation of a series of internal amenity or garden areas. In addition to providing daylight and natural amenity deep into the building, these spaces provide points of orientation for the 640 employees. A second series of ‘Quadrangles’ provide breakout spaces supported by tea and coffee stations. These garden and quadrangle areas are defined by a visually strong post and beam framework in natural timber. Within the greater volume, meeting rooms present as pods in glass and solid partitions. Strong use of primary colours set against more muted tones, create an energy and vibrancy throughout the space.
