The proposed development will replace the existing sidings with a contemporary 10 storey commercial building that reinforces the character and scale of the immediate and wider docklands context.
The height scale + mass of the proposed building will be comparable to other modern buildings in the locality, while its character as a whole will make a positive contribution to the contemporary townscape that is gradually emerging in this area. A fitting location for a modern building and therefore will have a positive impact upon the urban landscape character of the area. There are elements of the building’s character which are consistent and complementary to the existing context such as the vertical emphasis of the fenestration that complements the buildings nearby. TOT received a planning grant for Boston Sidings in October 2019.
