The 3,000sqm Passport Office building is designed as a three storey naturally ventilated office of 13.5 metre floor plate depth. The design response utilises the considerable fall across the site, in meeting the particular requirements of the brief. At lower ground level the building accommodates passport production, strong rooms and storage facilities. A highly controlled environment delivers security, fire suppression and minimal vibration of the building structure. The first and second floors provide office space staff facilities and support areas. The project was progressed through to completion in close liaison with the Office of Public Works, Department of Foreign Affairs and their specialists.
