Dublin Airport City, Clean Tech Campus
The brief seeks to establish an international clean tech campus at Dublin Airport, of LEED platinum rating, enjoying iconic status, within a six minute transfer time office desk to terminal check-in. The selected site presents a further challenge, set as it is within an expansive, long term carpark devoid of natural features, to the east of the campus.
Various options have been developed in response to a first phase quantum of 50,000sqm. Iconic building configurations were developed. These in turn informed the master plan for the entire site. Options were weighted and scored. Central to the chosen option is the creation a ‘green lung’ – a 5,000sqm winter garden, serving first and subsequent phases, providing amenity for the greater airport campus. An elevated people mover terminates within the winter garden providing the required transfer time office desk to check-in.
