Restoration and enhancement of the Killarney hotel’s unique architectural features was a priority of the project’s brief, which also required the bedrooms to be modernised and enlarged and the conference and leisure facilities hugely expanded. As the original hotel is a listed building, the proposed works were first discussed with Duchas, the national heritage body. The decoration of this original hotel is based on that of the Victorian era in which the building was constructed. The hotel now provides 172 bedrooms. The redeveloped Conference Centre, Spa and Fitness Centre are designed and fitted out in an exciting contemporary style.
