The practice was commissioned by Lidl GmbH to design their four regional distribution centres in Ireland, representing a total area in excess of 110,000sqm. Each design responds to specific site constraints, utilises the most cost advantageous construction system, and responds to the changing operational needs of Lidl.

Each facility has in excess of 45 dock levellers to either long face to accommodate goods inwards and outwards. The facility is generaly temperature controlled to 4°c. Each one incorporates a 130sqm, -28°c freezer with sub floor heating mats to eliminate frost heave. Each facility is housed within a 120m wide ‘A’ frame with a single column mid span. The roof is approximately 32,000sqm and is provided with a symphonic drainage system. Incorporated into each distribution centre is a substantial waste management facility.
