Irish Distillers Fit Out
In the renovation of their Dublin office we wanted to reflect the company’s characteristics that they are so proud of; crafted, traditional as well as innovative and welcoming. The creation of an iconic workspace for IDL staff to work in and visitors to be welcomed was an important function of the space. The entrance lobby doubled as a reception area and lounge space while a feature display wall showcases the vast range of products delivered by IDL. A visual connection between the lobby space and the industrial cafe space beyond allows people to feel immediately connected with the space upon entry. Concrete effect flooring seamlessly takes you from the entrance lobby into the café space, with a colour palette of rich wood and aged copper the space feels mature and crafted. The café space was designed for casual meetings as well as a breakout space for staff and guests, designing a space which was a destination of its own was integral to the brand experience of the café space.
The office was designed to enable employees to function better, with teams zoned in certain areas and all associated facilities within easy access to them. The addition of a variety of breakout and meeting spaces cater for various sized meeting both planned and spontaneous. Bringing natural light into all areas of the space was achieved through both the space planning and selected materials, low level storage combined with high level glazed partitions allow light to filter through unobstructed. The addition of some glazed panels to the top portion of solid dividing partitions ensured privacy without a feeling of complete separation from the rest of the space. Staff are a primary focus to IDL so when it came to the creation of the shower room facility the design was brief was to be a luxurious space. Attending functions is a big part of the tasks undertaken by staff at IDL we wanted to design an interior which not only enabled each employee but also helped to create a relaxing and mindful preparation experience. The central stairs connecting the third and fourth floor was transformed into an airy terrace space in the centre of the floor plan. Although the space lacked any windows to the exterior, the addition of glazed walls, change of flooring, a feature living wall combined with ample amounts of planting create a fresh social space. The Terrace area is used by staff daily for a combination of meetings, focus work and downtime. It is also the primary location of functions within the office so a fully functional bar is located at the end of the space to showcase a new drinks launch and cater for large groups who may attend. https://www.pernod-ricard.com/en
